On the hike to Ouzel Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park just outside of Estes Park, you criss cross up and down the mountain sides on pathways like this. Sometimes passing underneath a rock outcropping. The shade was a nice break from the warm sun. This was around 3 hours in and we weren't even quite to the half way point of Ouzel Lake!
