Vetch in the Morning

Vetch in the Morning, originally uploaded by Carl's Photography.

Vetch in the Morning: Sabbath morning I got up and drove around with the four wheeler looking at interesting sites to photograph on our property. The sky was contrasty with clouds and the sun peeking through. A cool 60 degree morning in the middle of July!

Sweet corn early in the morning

July has been cool. The corn isn't growing quite as quick as last year, but is still doing well. I planted two varieties - an early and late yield. The early variety has tassles and the begining of ears. The late variety is several weeks at least behind.

Vetch against the Southern sky

Here is another view of the vetch patch -- now facing south. This was a less contrasty scene and it made it easier to capture the full range in a 3 shot HDR. Brent was sitting on the 4-wheeler. I had to lay down in the grass and vetch to be able to look through the view finder. The sky looks particularly interesting I think with the wide angle in portrait orientation.

Here is a wild patch of vetch in my field. The clouds looked great with streams of glory coming through. Brent and I got on the four wheeler and zoomed out across the field. I setup the tripod while he looked on from where he was sitting in the grass. I shot several shots in bracketed mode. A deer was across the fence watching us about 75 yards away. A beautiful evening as it led into Sabbath

Sunlight showing through the clouds

3 shot HDR shot handheld a few evenings ago in mid June. The term glory refers to sun showing through the clouds. This is faced west and I'm standing just west of our house.

One morning before work I stood atop the parking garage and facing north I took a few photos. There was quite a bit of humidity in the air that you can see in the right portion of the photo.
