Survival - A persistent wildflower at the top of the world.

On the trail, Top of the World, on the top of one of the Teton mountains in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, I found this little yellow flower sticking out of the rock and gravel. The wind howled over the top of the mountain traveling from the west in Idaho over the mountain into Wyoming. Somethings can survive no matter what it seems.

For the weekend we had Greg and Cheryl Carr, Janae Carr Rowe, Jon and Carrie Carr with baby Arianna, my parents, Terry Kaiser, Stefen and Crystal Kaiser with their two children, Carisse and Micah. We had a great Sabbath lunch of haystacks. For desert we had fresh cut strawberries over an angel food cake and an Italian cream cake that I had made with a home made cream cheese frosting with lime zest in it.

Hiking down the mountain and surveying the valley below.

When we visited Jackson Hole, Wy and Teton Village, we hiked all the way down the mountain. At about this point, we were stumbling from the hours of walking down the trail. It was a beautiful day and the valley in between the mountains was beautiful.

Purple Star Field During Winter

The temperature had warmed up to the mid 20-30s. I went out and photographed around 8 pm. I stood in the backyard in the shadow of the house. I wore coveralls, coat, face mask and heavy gloves. Amazing low light performance out of the D7000. This is ISO 6400 at 10 secs. I even managed to get a shooting star/meteroite.
