Coral Bay - St. John - US Virgin Islands

Via Flickr:
This was the view out of our villa on the east end of St. John. The small aqua turquoise bay is Frit's bay which opens up into the larger Coral Bay. It was definitely less populated and less touristy on this side.

Little Lameshur Bay - St. John - US Virgin Islands USVI

Via Flickr:
The southeast side of St. John is much less populated and not nearly as many people at the beaches. Beautiful turquoise water, white sandy beaches, great snorkeling - a great vacation / holiday destination.

Blue Turquoise Ocean at St. John in the US Virgin Islands

Via Flickr:
We visited the Annaberg Sugar Plantation Ruins on the northeast side of St. John. I'm standing at a vantage point overlooking the ocean. Mary's Point is sticking out to the left with Mary's bay, the larger bay is Leinster bay. The Carribean water is always so beautiful! A great location for snorkeling, white sandy beaches, laying out and forgetting about your troubles while you are on a vacation!

Breakfast at the ocean edge in St. John

Via Flickr:
For Sunday Brunch, we arrived early to "Miss Lucy's". We got a table under a shade tree right at the ocean edge. I had lovely salmon scrambled eggs with fruit and potatoes. A refreshing smoothing a tasty orange juice complemented the meal. Becky sat to my left with her food and Terri and Doug were to my right. Live, soft jazz music played behind us that melted into the sea breeze and sounds of gently lapping ocean waves.

Overlooking Maho Bay, St. John, US Virgin Islands USVI, Virgin Islands National Park

Via Flickr:
For our 15 year anniversary, I took Becky to St. John in the US Virgin Islands. The sun was falling and we had a short time to get this photo before it disappeared altogether. I had Doug hold the umbrella stand. This view over looks Maho Bay which is on the north side of the island and just one bay to the east of the popular Cinamon Bay. I think we were on our way to go have an evening meal at Asalore. The food was ok but the service was horrible and it was way over priced.

Strobist: SB-900 and SB-800 into Wescott 43" white shoot through umbrella at camera left. Triggered from pop up flash in commander mode with IR pass through filter in front. Power levels set via commander menu in Nikon D7000 with GPS unit attached.

Coral Bay - Fritz Bay, St. John US Virgin Islands, USVI

Via Flickr:
We stayed in a private villa on the east end of St. John. This looked out to Fritz Bay which is part of the larger Coral Bay. Our bedroom opened out to a covered porch. We kept the sliding glass door open, the screen door closed and the cool/lukewarm sea breeze blew threw our bedroom. We awoke to sunrises like these every day. The only negative was the 100 million chikens that were competing to see which one could outdo the others begining about 4:30-5am. Well, that and the goats that would bleat too ...

A late afternoon / early evening view of Trunk Bay on St. John in the US Virgin Islands. A great location for snorkeling, white sandy beaches, laying out, enjoying the sun as well as the turquoise ocean.
