Lake of Glass in Rocky Mountain National Park

Via Flickr:
After hiking the trail to Alberta Falls, we continued on to Loch Vale and from there went on to Lake of Glass. This required hiking/scrambling up steep ledges of a 20 foot water fall to reach this scene. The air was so thin that I had to stop to take breathers after climbing up several boulders at a time.

After traveling up Old Fall River Road, we reached the Alpine Visitor Center. I took sometime to photograph a variety of views. It is hard to convey the immense, vast and breath taking views.

Alpine Tundra Mountain View off of Old Fall River Road in Rocky Mountain National Park

Via Flickr:
After you entered Rocky Mountain National Park, there was a narrow pothole filled gravel road that traveled up the mountain at a steep incline named Old Fall River Road. In this view, we have traveled higher than the tree line and have a view of the alpine tundra in front of the mountains.

Alpenglow at YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, Colorado - Rocky Mountain National Park

Via Flickr:
This was the view from our cabin porch. We stayed at a cabin at YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park just outside of Rocky Mountain National park. I work up early in the morning and made this photo around 5:30 in the morning. The diffuse pink/purple lit up the sky for a short time with an alpenglow effect.
