Grass fire

Grass fire, originally uploaded by carlcmc.

Taken in a very wide angle view to show everything. One can still see the red dot of the fire extinguisher (the non functioning fire extinguisher!) that lies in the midst of the burned stubble. The fire escaped quickly and it took about an hour for the fire department to put out. The fire extinguisher failed. The hose was filled with ice and failed me. Five gallon buckets weren't enough. Probably around 10 acres total burned including our land and across two fences not in view.
